David Brown joins Boro coaching staff
Scarborough Athletic boss Darren Kelly has brought in former Boro striker David Brown as a part of his coaching staff.
This will be Brown's third spell at the club, after previously winning promotion with Boro from the NCEL Premier under then boss Rudy Funk.
He will join up as player/first-team coach, a role he is really excited about,
Brown said: "I have been coaching in the youth set-up at Bradford City for a while now, I think this was the only job I would have left that for.
"The aspirations the club has, with the backing of the fans, is a huge opportunity.
"I can remember getting promoted with the club a few years back, the fans really drove you on. I still keep in touch with a lot of the boys because it was a great time.
"Since I left I have always looked out for Scarborough's results, especially since Darren (Kelly) has come in as manager.
"I played under him at Hyde, he is an unbelievable man manager, so to have the chance to work with him again is a great opportunity.
"Since he has come in he has taken a club flirting with relegation to the brink of the play-offs, so you have to trust the decisions he makes."
Kelly added: "Browny will bring so much to the changing room, not only on the coaching side, but also as a player.
"He is still a very fit lad, he won't be a starter, but he is a fantastic impact player. If you need a goal, Browny can get you one.
"He has been coaching with Bradford City, so he has the qualities to offer us so much."« Back to news
