Boro Legend John Fawcett Sadly Passes Away

Former Scarborough FC and Scarborough Athletic legend John Fawcett has sadly passed away aged 87.

John was a director of Scarborough Football Club from 1969 to 1994, serving for several spells as chairman and vice-chairman and in 2007 was appointed president of Scarborough Athletic. He stood down from that post in 2019 and was presented with life membership of the club by the chairman, Trevor Bull.

Trevor Bull said: "It is so sad, John was a lovely man and a great friend to both clubs. He did so much for Scarborough FC, spending time as chairman and in other roles. Then he went on to play a big part for the current club as well. We send our deepest sympathy and condolences to John's family and friends at this sad time".
