Ashton United Preview

Scarborough Athletic travel to East Manchester to face Ashton United for the first time on Saturday.

The seadogs played the Robins at the Flamingo Land Stadium on 01 February, with Boro coming out on top, winning 3-1 in front of 900 supporters. Two goals from Michael Coulson and a Ryan Watson strike sealed the points for Boro. Boro will start the afternoon in 8th place, four points outside of the play-offs having played 33 games. This will be our first visit to the Hurst Cross Stadium.

Ashton, sit in 18th place, 17 points behind the seadogs, however with six games in hand over Boro. Recently, Ashton have lost only of their last four games since the start of February, when losing to Scarborough. Ashton have since picked up a win at home to Witton, whilst drawing with Whitby and Warrington.

Boro raise doubts over the fitness of Josh Barrett, who has taken two weeks of knocks on his ankle. Meanwhile, Chris Dawson continues to struggle with a groin injury.
