Match Preview - Scarborough Athletic v Basford United

Boro entertain Basford United today, a club who also enjoyed the joys of promotion last season, winning the Evo-Stik South Division. They won the league by 15 points, hitting the 100 points landmark with an identical goal difference to Boro, scoring 101 and conceding 42.

There is currently just one point between the two sides in the table, with Basord in 5th place on 12 points and Boro in 8th place on 11 points. However, the visitors have played a game more.

In midweek, Basford battered Matlock Town 6-0 at home and are now the league's leading goalscorer with 18 goals. They have former Boro defender Dom Roma in their ranks, who our fans will remember as a key player two seasons ago when we reached the Evo-Stik North play offs.

With the exception of Jack Johnson, who remains sidelined, Boro are expected to be at full strength with Matty Dixon likely to be back in contention.

Prior to the game the club will once again be conducting Travel Surveys as part of our application for ground improvements. Please can we ask supporters to take the time to complete this where possible, as it is crucial they are completed. We are also having a food collection for The Rainbow Centre in the town centre, who recently suffered a break in. Supporters are asked to bring non-perishable food to the clubhouse from 1.30pm until kick off.
