As many fans may know, The Rainbow Centre in Scarborough town centre was broken into earlier this month. The Rainbow Centre plays a vital part in providing food to the local community in the form of a food bank and people who know about it, know just how much it means and does for the local community and how much work goes into it.
During the break in a lot of food was taken from the food shed and with so much food gone they are finding it hard to supply food parcels for those who need it.
As a way of helping The Rainbow Centre, we are asking supporters to help by donating any amount of food they can today to either the Boro Hub (9am-11am) or the Clubhouse at the ground from 1.30pm onwards, prior to our game with Basford United. Tinned food and essential non-perishable foods would be ideal.
The Rainbow Centre is a social action project based in the heart of the town of Scarborough. The project is a registered charity and was set up in 1997 to address issues faced by homeless people. The project now aims to help a range of community members – including the homeless, families in crisis and individuals facing challenges due to a history of substance misuse poverty or returning from prison.
