Match Preview - Hyde United v Scarborough Athletic

This weekend Scarborough Athletic face one of their main rivals from last season, Hyde United.

The teams played each other three times last season, with the first ending in a 0-0 draw on the opening day of the season, which was the club's first ever competitive game at the Flamingo Land Stadium. Hyde won the next two, which were the infamous FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round game and then a 3-1 defeat for Boro at Ewen Fields in December.

Hyde gained promotion to the Evo-Stik Premier alongside Boro, claiming the third automatic promotion spot. Both teams have made several changes to their playing personnel since they last played each other, but the supporters of each team will remember the battles of those matches well and will be up for the fixture at Ewen Fields in Greater Manchester. Something that manager Steve Kittrick is also aware of, "We owe them from last year. They were our bogey side last year but we'll go there, treat it right and see if we can have a bit of payback".

Captain Kevin Burgess is also in bullish mood ahead of the fixture, "It's not going to be an easy place to go, but nowhere is in this league. We've just got to prepare right, get our mindset right and we go to win every game so hopefully we'll get the 3 points".

Hyde currently sit 18th in the league, a point behind Boro but have played a game less. They progressed in the FA Cup Preliminary Round last week, beating Sheffield FC 5-1, before being beaten 1-0 at Buxton in the league on Bank Holiday Monday.
