Match preview: Boro aim to maintain hot streak against Kendal

By Joe Usher

Scarborough Athletic will be looking to keep up their run of good form with a win in the home game against Kendal.

Boro have won their last four games including last weekend's comeback win over Droylsden which moved the Seadogs up to second place in the Evo-Stik North table on the same points as leaders South Shields, although Steve Kittrick's side have played two more games. Boro’s home form remains formidable losing only once in the league format at home all season. Boro are the joint second top scorer in the league this season with 52, only Prescot Cables have scored more (53).

In the earlier meeting this season it finished 2-2, the only away draw the Seadogs have had this season.

Kendal however have had a very mixed season. Especially on the road, they have won 4, drawn 2 and lost 6 times, leaving them in 14th place. Kendal have only won one in their last 7, however in that run they got a result against high flying South Shields. However their goalscoring exploits in that run have been sharp, only failing to find the net once in that run away at Mossley.

Scarborough Athletic manager Steve Kittrick feels that the game on Saturday will see a much different Boro side take to the field this time.

He said: "We are a different proposition from back in October, but it's important that we keep our feet on the ground. We're on a run at the moment which helps our confidence, so we're in good shape going into the game."

Team News

Midfielder James Cadman is back to full fitness after missing the Droylsden game last weekend as a precaution. Cadman came through training on Wednesday so is back in contention for the game on Saturday.

Defender Danny Stimpson trained on Wednesday, but he is still working his way back to fitness after his recent health scare.

Nathan Valentine will be having a fitness test ahead of the game after coming off in the early stages of the game last weekend with a groin injury.

Defender Bailey Gooda has extended his loan spell at the club for a further month and he is available for selection. More info
