Match Preview: Boro set to be right up for the cup
by Joe Usher
Scarborough Athletic will be looking to progress into the third round of the Integro League Cup with a win over old rivals Ossett Town tonight (7:45pm KO).
The two sides have shared some close encounters in recent history, with Boro grabbing victory at Ingfield last year in the first round of this competition, however it was of course Ossett Town that ended the Seadogs Play-Off ambitions at the end of last season with a 3-1 win at Queensgate.
These two sides will meet again in the Evo-Stik North next month at the Flamingo Land stadium, but both sides will be looking to push on in this competition in the pursuit for some silverware.
Boro of course have a good history in this competition, reaching the final in the 2015/16 season, losing to Marine in the final that day.
Steve Kittrick's side come into this having not played for a week and a half, with the scheduled games getting called off at Marske United and the last minute postponement at Colwyn Bay on Saturday. Ossett Town come into the match having won only one out of their last four league matches, but still up in 8th in the Evo-Stik North.
The game will see the return of Boro summer signing Emile Sinclair following his move to Grant Black's side last month. Sinclair scored a hat-trick for Scarborough in the preliminary round of this competition against Sheffield FC, also netting for his new side against Goole three weeks ago in their first round tie.
As well as Emile, former Seadogs Alex Peterson, Steve Ridley, Sam Wright will also be facing Boro at the new Flamingo Land Stadium ground.

On the other side, Boro boss Steve Kittrick has managed Ossett Town before, with Dave Merris, Nathan Curtis and James Walshaw also appearing for the Ingfielders.
This is set to be an intriguing match up between two sides who know each other really well.
