Inter Charter 1 Boro Reserves 3

6th February 2010

Boro Reserves moved to third in the Humber Premier League table with a 3-1 win against Inter Charter, with goals from Mike Rustill, Luke Thompson and Paul Routledge.

The side were 1-0 down at half time, and with manager Andy Dorsey feeling the need for more pace in attack Paul Routledge and Luke Thompson came on after 50 minutes. Paul and Luke were not fully fit due to recently having illness, but their appearance changed the game.

Dorsey said: "I feel we need to improve our basic play for next weeks match at North Cave and learn the importance of keeping the ball and progressing play with patience. But the win was very pleasing.

Dorsey also included young debutant goalkeeper George Elliott, who had previously played for the club's supporters' team Seadogs FC.

Dorsey said: "George had an excellent first match for the reserves and gave confidence to my defence."

Boro reserves are now just four points behind leaders Crown FC with a game in hand, and just one point behind North Cave in second, also with a game in hand. They face North Cave away next weekend.
